RESTRUCTURING A STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING FIRM

Lynch Mykins, a Raleigh-based structural engineering firm, formerly known as Stroud Pence,  was undergoing a management change as the original founders transitioned into retirement and two of the company’s top executives — Anna Lynch and David Mykins —took ownership. The firm needed a new name and a new identity, one that reflected what their team knew all along: They’re not your typical structural engineers.

Knowing the transition would be centered around a sensitive, internal ownership transaction, we created an action plan that covered all internal and external elements of both the ownership change and subsequent brand rollout, and counseled the new executive leadership team through the transition. With this plan in place, we designed a new visual identity and message platform for the company, and launched Lynch Mykins in its key markets of the Triangle, Virginia Beach and Richmond, Virginia.
